Draft for legal review · not in force yet
Platform terms
This draft explains the proposed rules for a Who Paid For This homepage takeover. It is not yet in force. The operator’s legal name, address, governing law, liability terms, and several service remedies still need legal review. A written booking confirmation may add campaign-specific terms once checkout is enabled; it cannot override mandatory law.
What you reserve
A daily takeover is a 24-hour slot on the public homepage, with a duration of one to three consecutive UTC days. The server is authoritative for date availability and scheduling. The handover occurs at 00:00 UTC on the first booked day. A request or quote alone does not reserve a date or create a booking.
Daily takeover price and date reservation
The booking page shows the current one-day rate in USD. It may be calculated from verified traffic totals for the last three completed UTC days or set by the site owner. The server checks date availability and the total again when checkout begins. The amount shown in the checkout confirmation is the amount for that order; later rate changes do not silently change an existing order.
As of this draft, paid checkout is disabled. No payment is taken and no date is held unless the site explicitly enables checkout and issues a checkout session for your request. When enabled, a $5 USD reservation payment is credited toward the booking total. The selected dates are held for up to 15 minutes while payment is pending. A reservation is confirmed only after the payment provider verifies payment before that hold expires. A late payment does not reserve the dates and is reviewed for a refund. For a $20 one-day booking, the remaining balance is $15.
Review, lock, and final payment
You submit the completed takeover experience and its assets for our review by the deadline agreed at booking. We may request changes before approval. Once we approve the final version, we lock that version for the reserved date and send a link for the remaining balance. The balance must be paid before the takeover can go live. Later changes require another review and approval.
Reservation cancellation and refunds
The $5 reservation payment is nonrefundable if you cancel the reserved date, abandon the booking, miss an agreed submission or payment deadline, or continue to submit prohibited material after we have explained the issue, subject to applicable law and any written booking terms. We do not charge the remaining balance for creative work we have not approved and locked. If we cannot provide the reserved date or decline a good-faith submission that cannot be brought into compliance, we refund amounts paid for that booking, including the reservation payment. A payment received after a hold expires is not an accepted reservation; we review it for refund. Payment-provider processing may delay a refund. This draft does not waive refund rights that cannot legally be waived.
Monthly sponsorships
A monthly empty-hours sponsorship is a separate calendar-month booking. One approved sponsor fills the homepage when no daily takeover is active. Daily takeovers always take priority. The monthly quote, delivery period, placement details, any minimum delivery commitment, and cancellation/refund terms must be agreed in writing before payment. A monthly sponsor does not receive the hours assigned to a daily takeover.
Your campaign and rights
You are responsible for the copy, links, offers, and files you submit. You confirm that you have permission to use them, that they are accurate and lawful, and that their publication does not violate another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights. You must honor the offer and disclosures shown in your campaign and comply with advertising and consumer-protection laws that apply to you.
You grant the service a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to host, copy, review, format, display, and distribute submitted material as needed to review and run the campaign, operate the service, and preserve its public archive, including through our hosting and storage providers. You keep ownership of your material. The final scope and duration of this permission must be confirmed in the final terms.
Review, prohibited material, and removal
Every asset, version, and custom runtime is reviewed before it reaches the public page. We may decline, pause, or remove material that is unlawful, deceptive, infringing, abusive, malicious, unsafe, or inconsistent with the service, including malware, phishing, unsafe embeds, or content that violates another person’s rights. A review is not a legal certification or endorsement of your claims. You must not use the service to distribute malware, evade security controls, collect sensitive information without authorization, or mislead visitors.
Publication and public archive
Only the approved release goes live. A published version is immutable; a change requires a new review and release. Completed takeovers are intended to remain available in the public archive as a permanent record. We may restrict or remove an archive item when required for safety, rights, or legal compliance. Tell us promptly if you believe published material infringes your rights or exposes information that should not be public.
Delivery and measurement
We report aggregated engagement signals for your takeover; visitor-level personal data is not included in the advertiser report. Counts are estimates and may be affected by browser settings, network failures, bots, ad blockers, or measurement limits. A booking does not promise a particular number of visits, impressions, clicks, sales, or conversions unless a separate written order expressly promises one.
Availability and service interruptions
We work to keep the site available, but do not promise uninterrupted operation or error-free delivery. Outages, maintenance, network or provider failures, and emergency moderation can interrupt a campaign. Before checkout is enabled, the final terms or written booking confirmation must state what remedy applies if a material interruption affects a paid slot; this draft does not set a specific service-credit formula. Calendar availability may change before a checkout hold is created. After the reservation payment, creative review remains separate, and an approved version can be scheduled only after the remaining balance is paid.
Terms still requiring legal review
The service operator’s legal identity and address, governing law, liability limits, indemnities, formal notices, complete cancellation rules, and events outside either party’s control still need review. These terms must be completed and dated before checkout is enabled. Ask us for the current written terms before making a booking.
